We will stay at a Villa Padronale, used in the 15th
century as the summer residence for the wealthy families
from Siena and Florence. The villa is on a working farm, where
olive oil, wine, Pecorino cheese and fresh vegetables and herbs
are grown and harvested. The villa is modernized but still retains
its old-world charm. Some apartments have a common kitchen area.
All rooms are double-occupancy with a private bathroom.
Breakfast is at 8:30 and includes a full varied menu of freshly
baked breads and croissants, cereals, juice, and fresh eggs
from the farm. And of course, cappuccino or espresso.
At night we dine gracefully on homemade pasta, brick-oven bread,
regional cheeses and antipasti, Tuscan meat and vegetable specialties,
and the world-renowned Chianti wines. There is a swimming
pool for a refreshing dip at any time.
